Types of Football Bets
If you love watching football, you’ll love betting on it even more. Betting on football is a great way to get involved more personally with the excitement of the game, and if you know what you are doing, it can be quite profitable too. What types of football bets are there?
- WLD. This is short of “win, lose, draw,” and is the most common kind of football bet. This is based on the match result or 90 minutes result.
- Half Time Result (HTR). This is just like the standard WLD bet you can do at the Full Time mark, but at Half Time.
- Draw No Bet. This is a type of bet where your money is returned to you if there is a draw. This is often abbreviated DNB.
- Accumulator bet. This is a bet on a number of different football selections.
- Under/Over. This is where you bet the number of goals scored will be “under” or “over” a certain quantity.
- Correct score. Often abbreviated as “CS,” this is a wager where you predict the score of the game at the end of normal time.
- Half Time/Full Time (HF/FT). This is a combination of a Half Time and Full Time bet, where you are wagering on the results for both.
- First Goal Scorer (FGS). As you might expect, this is simply a wager on which player will be the first to score a goal. You also can wager there will be no goal scorer at all within normal time.
- Each Way First Goal Scorer. This is a variation on the type of wager above. You can win if the player you select scores second or third, not just first in the match. This is a great way to bet if you are very confident about a certain player, but not positive he will score first.
- Last Goal Scorer Bets (LGS). This is exactly what it sounds like. You pick the player who will score last, and if you are right, you win.
- Asian Handicap Betting (AH). With this type of betting, goals handicaps are assigned to the teams in advance. You are betting on the result of the match with the handicaps taken into account. Asian Handicap Betting is quite popular.
- Scorecast. This type of betting is sometimes called First Scorer/Correct Double Score. This more descriptive name explains perfectly what a Scorecast bet is. You are betting both on the first scorer in the match and the score itself. This type of wager is quite risky and very hard to win. This is not a good one for beginners, and even veteran bettors often steer clear as it tends to be a money drain.
