Sources of Stress in Betting, Part 1
If you actually become a sports punter for a living, you will be embarking on a career which eliminates many of the sources of stress which are ubiquitous in the 9-to-5 life. You won't have to worry about pleasing the boss, clocking in on time, or dealing with difficult coworkers. You will be calling the shots in almost every respect. The only exception of course is that you will be required to follow the rules that you set for yourself. These are the rules that help you to profit time and again.
This is not to say however that sports betting is a stress-free career. Actually, sports betting can be incredibly stressful, more stressful in some ways than what you do now. And a lot of the types of stress that you face may be unfamiliar to you from you 9-to-5 life. You are essentially trying to transition into self-employment, and that is not easy.
Even if you were able to transition straight into full-time self-employment as a punter, you would deal with a lot of stress. But just think how much more you will have to face since that transition is not an instantaneous one. You actually have to juggle not one but two jobs. That in itself generates a great deal of work, probably far more than you're used to dealing with now. It's easy to become impatient with that level of responsibility. It poses many logistic obstacles and challenges your commitment to success.
I want to talk to you about some of these sources of stress in more detail. So in the next three parts of my series on Sources of Stress in Betting, I will delve into the challenges you will face in detail, and make some recommendations for overcoming them. Read on:
