Do You Really Ever “Start Over” in Sports Betting? Part 1
Imagine that you have been wagering on sports for a couple of years now. You started out casually, just betting with friends on football matches, and you noticed that you had a bit of a knack for it, so you decided to get serious and start betting online. You ended up putting a lot of time and research into things, and you studied up and learned a few sports betting systems. Eventually you got one working pretty well—it took well over a year of effort before you built up the expertise you needed to start wagering profitably and consistently.
And then it all started falling apart. Suddenly one day your system stopped delivering those winning results, and you began taking loss after loss. You don’t understand what is going wrong. You are following all the same rules you always do, and you haven’t noticed any obvious major changes on the pitch.
When something like this happens, the resulting emotion is usually panic, pure and simple. Since you do not understand why you are losing money, you feel out of control. You question the legitimacy of the system you have been using and wonder if all of your winning was some kind of illusion, a coincidence. You feel like you are being forced to start all over again from square one. That is never a pleasant prospect. After all, you put in a lot of work to get where you are. The thought of all of it being erased is just crushing.
I would argue however that no one ever really has to start all over again in sports betting. Even though you may be stuck finding a new betting system (or just putting a lot of work into fixing the one you have now), you have a lot of capabilities and tools on your side you did not have when you first started out.
