What to Look for in Sports Betting Bots

Betting bots, also known as auto-betting programs, are very popular.  A betting bot is a program that will automatically place wagers on your behalf.  Different bots work based on different algorithms and methods of analysis, so some will perform far better than others.  Generally speaking, I urge caution when it comes to using programs like these.  See my article “Should You Buy Sports Betting Bots?”.

Let’s say you do decide to buy sports betting automation software.  What features should you look for?

• Ease-of-use.  Look for a program that is easy to understand and learn how to use.  It should be able to run while you are away from your computer or mobile device. 

• Allows you to bet on a wide range of markets.

• Uses strategies which have been extensively tested with proven results.  If the software you are purchasing is powered by someone else’s strategies, make sure that they have posted a list of results from recent months as well as previous years.  Be sure that the win percentage is solid, but realistic.  A really high win percentage (i.e. 90%) is a sign of a scam.

• Consider picking an auto-betting program that actually lets you upload your own strategies and fine-tune them.  This is an excellent way to bet while you are unable to be at your computer, using the methods that you have developed and trust.

• Look for software that gives you advanced scheduling features and allows you to record and export logs of all your betting activities in a user-friendly format.  Other great features to look for are the ability to set a profit target, stop loss, and trailing stop. 

• Compatibility.  You need to pick a program that will be compatible with your UK sports betting site.  A lot of betting sites will actually give you a starting list of automated betting programs to look at.  But you will find other programs not on their lists which may be compatible with their systems.

Before you purchase any sports betting bot, make sure that you look at the reviews customers have left for the software.  Research the features thoroughly, and think about reaching out to the program’s help desk with a question or two, just to test the quality of their customer service.  Many programs come with free trial periods which can help you get a feel for the software and be sure it is the right choice for you before you fully commit.
