The Big List of Football Props

Football is of course one of the most exciting and beloved sports here in the UK.  There are numerous different ways you can wager on this favourite sport.  The exact props available will depend on which UK betting site you are using, but here is a big list of common football props:

• Match result:  Correctly predict which side will win the match.

• Half-time result:  Predict which side will win the first half.

• Half-time/full-time:  Correctly predict which side will be winning at half-time and which will win the entire match.

• Total goals:  Correctly state the number of total goals at the end of play time.

• Over/under:  State whether the number of total goals at the end of a match will be under or over a certain amount.

• Both teams to score:  Say whether both teams will score by the time the match is over.

• First goal team:  Which team will score the first goal in the match?

• First goal time:  How many minutes into the game will have passed when it happens? 

• Team first goal time:  How many minutes into the game will have passed when a specific team scores its first goal?

• Corners:  How many corner kicks will be taken during the match?

• Highest scoring half:  Which half will have more combined goals, the first or the second?  You might also predict a draw where both halves have the same number of goals.

• Corners over/under:  Predict whether the number of corners will be above or below a certain number.

• Booking points:  How many combined total booking points will apply to the match?

• Team with most booking points:  Which team will receive the most booking points?  You might also predict a draw where both teams receive the same amount.

• Odd or even total:  Will the number of combined goals at the end of the match be an even or odd number?

• Team clean sheet:  Will a team have a clean sheet by the end of the match?

• Handicap result:  This is a match result where a handicap is applied before the bet begins.  You must win the bet with the applicable points added or subtracted.  There are also handicap variations on the other types of bets listed here, for example corners handicap bets. 

While this is not necessarily an exhaustive list, as you can see, there are a ton of different types of wagers available to you if you want to bet on football.  Whether or not you will be able to try them all depends on what your betting site makes available to you.  Start with the simpler types of wagers and work your way up to more complicated types of bets or riskier wagers.  Familiarising yourself with different types of football props will help you to strategically choose the right types of bets for specific situations. 

There may be days you can predict the match result, but not the number of goals, and other days when you may guess the halftime result, but have no clue who will finish as the winner of the match.  Having different types of bets available to you helps you to win even when your knowledge is limited.
