The company was owned by Modern Times Group (MTG) which the largest free-TV and pay-TV operator in Scandinavia and the Baltics, holding 50 TV channels. Bet24 when first operated as an online bookmaker offered only sports betting but slowly expanded its gaming portfolio and offered casino, poker and games as well. At the end of 2012 the company was bought out by the Scandinavian gaming giant Unibet and they seized operating as bet24.

At bet24, players could find a satisfying number of sports offered for betting. As a Swedish company, they offered very competitive odds on ice hockey, handball and bandy which are all very popular sports amongst the Scandinavians. The Operator of bet24, Nordic Betting Limited, was a licensed betting company operating from Malta holding its license through the Lotteries & Gaming Authority (http://www.lga.org.mt). License dated 26th of February 2003. Reg: LGA/BO/162/2002.
