Planning Ahead to Manage Your Football Tournament Betting Bankroll

Planning on betting on one of the big international football tournaments?  If so, good for you!  The World Cup, European Championship, Confederations Cup, and other international events are some of the most exciting spectacles in all of sports.  Betting on them can be an amazing experience, and a lucrative one too if you do it right.  Part of that is managing your bankroll intelligently, and that starts with some basic planning at the beginning of the tournament.

The first thing you should do is familiarise yourself with the schedule and pacing of the tournament in question.  Check to see what the maximum number of games will be.  Whether you bet on all of those games or just some of them is up to you and how you want to manage your bankroll.  You may prefer to place a single wager on each game, or you might want to concentrate your bets on matches you are really interested in.  If there is a game you can make many predictions about, you might bet on the first goal, the outcome score, player statistics, and more.  

Take a look at how much money you can afford to put on the line, and do the division.  If you are going in with solid funds, you may well be able to bet on every game, and may even be able to place multiple bets per game.  But if you do not have a lot to wager with, you may want to be extra choosey about which matches you bet on, and what types of bets you place.

Look over the game schedule and come up with a list of top-quality matches based on the teams participating and how likely you are to be able to correctly call the game or goals.  Maybe you are more familiar with some teams and players than others, or you just find a particular match to be more compelling.  The reasons you bet are up to you as well, so your list of matches to wager on may be those you believe will be profitable, or those you simply believe will be fun.

Once you have gone over this process, you can come up with an initial game plan for how you are going to allocate your betting funds over the course of the tournament.  This will keep you from making the mistake of taking all your wagers in the beginning and having no money left to play with later down the line. 

As the tournament unfolds, you will learn more about the teams and players, and this may change your perspective and predictions on the upcoming matches.  So periodically revisit your list and make revisions.  Matches you might have ignored before may suddenly become compelling opportunities, and those you were sure you wanted to wager on may no longer interest you.  Adjust your betting strategy and re-allocate your wagers as needed, and you will be able to maximise your fun and your profit over the course of the tournament!
