Brazil are the winners of the last two Copa America tournaments (beating Argentina in the both finals) and are expected to impress us one more time. Despite the fact that in recent history Brazil has won a lot of Copa America trophies, they were unable to win a single Copa America for fourty consecutive years, between 1949 and 1989! The football King Pele has only played in one Copa America back in 1959 in a tournament where he was voted the best striker scoring eight goals.
Brazil's highest score in a Copa America is a victory against 10-1 over Bolivia in 1949 and Zizinho is the greatest striker in all Copa America tournaments having scored 17 goals in total .

Brazil are in Group B of Copa America 2011 and are going to face Venezuela, Paraguay and Ecuador on that stage, starting against Venezuela in La Plata on 3rd July. Manu Menezes, the Brazilian manager who replaced Dunga after the World Cup 2010 has stated that he will give opportunities to young players on this tournament and has left out from the squad big superstars like Kaka and Ronaldinhio. So it is very possible to see young Brazilian stars like Neymar, Lucas, Paulo Henrique Ganso, Pato been given a lot playing time. Having reached 7 out of 9 last Copa America tournament finals and won 4 out of 5 of the last ones Brazil have the psychology of a winner but there are some voices of doubt about Menezes as Brazil has only won two out off their five games and have scored only three goals. According to the bookmakers Brazil are the second favourites to win Copa America 2011 and it will be very interesting to see if they can achieve that in a final against a considerably and hosting Argentina!
